What should I do upon arrival?
At the location of arrival (airport or sea port), you must inform Customs that you are importing goods for which you cannot be granted an exemption from ABB. You are required to report this. Customs will ask for an invoice of the goods and calculate the ABB due. You will pay the ABB to Customs and receive a receipt.
Your declaration is called a spoken declaration in legal terms. A spoken declaration for personal belongings is possible up to a value of USD 1500.00. If the value of the goods is higher, an electronic declaration must be filed with Customs. The Asycuda World system is used for this.
