Customs formalities

Unloading goads from a ship or airplane always requires permission from Customs.

The formalities

Permission will be granted once it has been determined that the relevant customs formalities have been met. These formalities are:

  • Completing the import clearance procedure;
  • Arranging insurance for the liability for any import duties due (general expenditure tax and/or excise duties) or acquiring a document based on a customs declaration.
