Douane CN intercepts drugs and makes two arrests at Bonaire airport
On Friday, the 29th of December, 2023, a male passenger, coming from the Netherlands on a TUI flight, was subjected to a customs check. During the inspection, two (2) plastic bags containing an herb resembling narcotics were found. The bags were hidden in two (2) cans of 'Magic Shaving Cream' brand shaving powder. The contents of the bags were tested and tested positive for suspected Hashish. The bags had a gross weight of 200 grams.
A man with initials G.A.G. was arrested for violating the Opium Act BES and was handed over to the KMAR for further investigation.
On Saturday, the 30th of December, 2023, a female passenger from Curaçao on a Divi Divi flight was checked by customs.
During the inspection of her luggage, a plastic bag containing a pill resembling XTC and a plastic bag containing a milk-colored substance that, after testing, reacted positively for Crystal Meth amphetamine, were found.
The clothing and body of the female passenger were also checked and a urine test was done. It turned out that she had a ‘bolita’ in her body. The contents of the ‘bolita’ tested positive for suspected cocaine.
A woman with initials R.M.R.R was arrested for violating the BES Opium Act and was handed over to the KMAR for further investigation.
